Cavity Wall Insulation Across Ireland
Walls lose more heat than any other surface in an Irish home — around 40% of the total. If your house has a cavity, filling it is the fastest and least disruptive way to stop that loss.

How cavity wall insulation works
Most Irish homes built from the 1930s onwards have a gap between two leaves of block. We drill a pattern of small holes in the mortar joints, pump bonded insulation beads into the cavity under pressure, then make the holes good so they are barely visible.
There is no work inside the house, no mess in your rooms, and no need to move out. Most homes are finished within a day.
Does your house have a cavity?
Homes built roughly between 1930 and 2005 usually do. Solid stone, 9-inch solid block and hollow-block construction do not — those need external wall insulation or internal dry-lining instead.
We confirm the construction by inspecting the wall thickness and drilling a test bore at the measuring visit, before anything is quoted.
When cavity fill is not the answer
We will tell you if your cavity is unsuitable. Walls that are exposed to driving rain on a badly weathered elevation, cavities already partially filled with debris, or homes with existing damp problems need those issues resolved first. Pumping insulation into a wall that has a water ingress problem makes the problem worse, not better.
Common questions
How long does cavity wall insulation take?
Most homes are completed in a single day, with no internal works and no need to leave the house.
Will the drill holes be visible?
The holes are made in the mortar joints and filled with matching mortar afterwards. On most homes they are very difficult to spot once complete.
Can cavity wall insulation cause damp?
Correctly assessed and correctly installed, no. The risk comes from filling a cavity that already has a water ingress or exposure problem, which is exactly what the survey checks for before we quote.
