Windows & Doors — Full Specification
The units
A-rated uPVC or composite frames with multi-chamber profiles, steel or composite reinforcement, and factory-fitted seals. Glazing is low-emissivity coated with a warm-edge spacer bar and argon fill. Triple glazing adds a third pane and a second cavity, worth specifying on exposed or north-facing elevations and on busy roads.
The process, step by step
- Survey: every opening measured individually, structural openings and lintels checked
- Order: units manufactured to your measurements, colour and hardware confirmed in writing
- Removal: old units taken out, glass and frames separated for disposal
- Installation: frames packed, levelled, mechanically fixed and sealed inside and out
- Finishing: reveals made good, prepared for painting where specified
- Handover: operation and locking demonstrated, guarantee documents issued
Security and compliance
Multi-point locking as standard, with cylinders to current anti-snap specification on doors. Where a window serves as a means of escape from a habitable room, the opening light is specified to meet the required clear opening dimensions — we check this at survey rather than at installation.
What is included, and what is not
Included: survey, manufacture to size, delivery, removal and disposal of the old units, installation, sealing, and guarantee paperwork.
Not included: internal decoration, replacement of rotten structural timber or defective lintels found on removal, or scaffolding where a first-floor opening cannot be reached safely from a ladder. Any of these is quoted before work continues.
